What is going on with Lil Uzi Vert?

The BUKU Music & Art Project was set to be a fun event for music lovers to enjoy a variety of different genres. Hip-hop lovers showed out for performances by Migos, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Flatbush Zombies, Jay Electronica, Rich The Kid, Smino, Lil Xan, Famous Dex and more. One of music's brightest young stars, Lil Uzi Vert, was also slated to appear at the fest but, after giving the promoter no apparent reason, he was a no-show. Uzi was one of the headliners, drawing fans to stick around to the end of the night to watch him perform.

Shortly after the Philly rapper did not show up for his set, the festival organizer showed a message onscreen, saying the following: "Lil Uzi is still in Philadelphia and decided not to come at the last minute. There is no reason. He just canceled on us with no advance notice." The promoters are certainly making Uzi out to be the bad guy in this situation, saying he just decided at the last minute to stay home. Whether or not a reason was given for the ghost-job, it is a sure fact that many fans went home disappointed.

The New Orleans festival followed up on Twitter, sending out the below tweet informing concert attendees that the show will go on. Other performers' sets were moved around and a portion of Uzi's booking fee was donated to the Upbeat Academy Foundation, a non-profit organization providing underprivileged at-risk children the opportunity to learn music.
