Halsey talks about her hopeful future having been diagnosed with endometriosis.

Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, recently paid a visit to The Doctors to talk about her painful condition, endometriosis, that one in every 10 women are diagnosed with. After collapsing outside her tour bus last year, she was finally properly diagnosed by a doctor leading her to properly take care of her condition. "The thing with endometriosis is that it comes down to that doctors can tend to minimize the female experience when it comes to dealing with it," she explained. "A lot of the time they can make you think it’s in your head."

A few months after getting her diagnosis the 23-year-old suffered a miscarriage. "I was on tour, and I found out I was pregnant. And before I could really figure out what that meant to me and what that meant for my future, for my career, for my life, for my relationship, the next thing I knew I was on stage miscarrying in the middle of my concert," she said. All this prompted her to undergo surgery and get an IUD, where a year later she's proud of her decision to freeze her eggs in hope of a "bright future."

“Reproductive illness is so frustrating because it can really make you feel like less of a woman,” she says in the video below. “There’s a lot of times when you’re sitting at home and you just feel so terrible about yourself. You’re sick, you don’t feel sexy, you don’t feel proud, you don’t feel like there’s much hope. And so taking these measures, so that hopefully I can have a bright future and achieve the things that I want to achieve by doing the ovarian reserve is really important.”
