Anderson .Paak starts off "Ventura" with a memorable Andre 3000 verse.

Anderson .Paak's Ventura record starts off on a serendipitous note with the re-emergence of Andre 3000.  Only a vet with 3K's credential could pull off a series of left-field, if not cringe-worthy references and come off spectacular with the vernacular. The OutKast alumnus leads into a "Harriet Tubman" anecdote with "hairy wet twat" as a playful homonym. Then there's his nod to Ramadan, counseling, the WWF, Comic-Con, and Billabong, the latter an allusion to feeling stuck (deprave) in a wave pool.

But before Andre 3000 gets his turn in the bluff, Anderson .Paak allows himself to set the scene for yet another California homecoming. "Come Home" encapsulates many of the same sentiments he expressed on Oxnard, except over a different locale. Andre 3000, equal parts troubadour and cultural connoisseur on his best day, doesn't look out of synch on Paak's homecourt. If anything, taking Andre 3000 out of his regular milieu really inspires him to explore his wacky-wacky side. "Come Home" should be enjoyed in its essential form: as a lover's quarrel with the added benefit of a guest verse of legendary proportions.

Quotable Lyrics:

Hairy wet twat
Harriet Tub-man, I don't give up
And if your gut tells you to strut, then strut
Then I'll hail you a car, but what man won't beg?
You know I'm Nutmeg.

- Andre 3000
