"Avatar" is the only thing between "Endgame" and the #1 spot.

Avengers: Endgame is on track to become the highest grossing movie of all time. According to The Hollywood ReporterEndgame raked in $145.8 million domestically and $282.2 million overseas in its second weekend. That brings the film's overall haul to $2.189 billion, beating out Titanic on the all-time grossing film list (unadjusted for inflation). Now, only Avatar ($2.8 billion) stands between Endgame and the top spot. Endgame has only been in theaters for 11 days at the time this was published. With less than two weeks under the movie's belt, it seems like a safe bet to assume Endgame will beat out Avatar before it's all said and done.

Disney is projected to have a dominant year at the box office. Captain Marvel and Endgame both made over a billion dollars, and the House of the Mouse has several other hits on the way. Aladdin drops this month, while Toy Story 4, Frozen 2, The Lion King, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are all slated to hit theaters this year as well. The Lion King (original), Toy Story 3, and Frozen sit at numbers 4, 5, and 6, respectively, on the all-time highest grossing animated movies list. Buying Marvel and Star Wars may have been the best move Disney has ever made.
