Sometimes you have to be careful with who you send e-mails to.

Before the last game of the Los Angeles Lakers season, Magic Johnson dropped a bombshell announcement as he explained that he would be stepping away as president of basketball operations for the team. There has been a ton of speculation as to why exactly Magic made that decision and yesterday, NBA reporter Ric Bucher told Colin Cowherd on The Herd that it may have had to do with some critical e-mails between Jeanie Buss and GM Rob Pelinka

"My understanding is that there were some emails that were exchanged between Rob and Jeanie…about Magic and about what Magic was and wasn’t doing," Bucher said.

It seems pretty bizarre that Magic would be able to get his hands on these exchanges, although as Bucher explained, the e-mail protocol within the Lakers organization could have led to Johnson seeing the criticism against him.

"Somehow, someway, Jeanie, from what I understand, was CC’ing or blind CC’ing Magic on everything. That was sort of protocol. Standard issue," Bucher explained. "Somehow, the exchange between Rob and Jeanie ended up on that string of the blind CC’s that were going to Magic. So, Magic now is seeing emails from Rob to Jeanie that were critical of what he was doing... so when he talked about the backstabbing, to me, my understanding that’s what started it."

Another day and another big development in Laker land. It's really never a dull moment.
