Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy have been publicly dating since June 2021.

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are undeniably two of the biggest names in comedy. As it turns out, their families might become intertwined in the near future, and if that's the case, the former specifically expects the latter to pay for the wedding ceremony.

The duo's children, Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy have been publicly dating since June 2021. As it turns out, their parents aren't the ones who first introduced them. According to PEOPLE, they previously "became really good friends because we bonded on a lot of things."

The fact that they both grew up in Hollywood allowed the young couple to better "[understand] each other." Additionally, Jasmin and Eric are both the firstborn children of their fathers.

Martin shares his daughter with his ex-wife, Patricia Southall. The German-born actor is also a father to 20-year-old Amara and 22-year-old Iyanna. As for Murphy, his aforementioned son is the eldest of 10. Eric's mother is The Haunted Mansion's ex, Paulette McNeely.

Last summer, Jasmin's dad joked about having his Life co-star pay for their kid's wedding during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Recently, Murphy responded to his friend's comments, playfully teasing, "That's not how it goes."

"My daughter just got married, and I had to pay — really had to pay," the 61-year-old explained. "You have to do the same, Martin. "Don't try to switch it up — don't try to change no shit, do no Hollywood switch. You're paying for the wedding. If it goes down, Martin is paying. And the wedding better be wonderful."

Besides planning a wedding, Eddie Murphy may also be back on a film set in the near future. He recently appeared alongside Nia Long, Jonah Hill, and Lauren London in Netflix's You People, and now, the Brooklyn native has said that she'd love to act alongside the comedian in another romantic comedy.
