He gave a statement to Billboard.

Rick Ross’ diss track “Idols Become Rivals” against Birdman on his latest album Rather You Than Me is a blunt calling out of what he perceives to be Birdman’s shady business dealings with Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and the numerous producers who have been stiffed by Cash Money and its affiliates. You can listen to that record here. Now, Birdman has responded via a statement to the media.

Billboard happened to be interviewing Bryan “Birdman” Williams for an unrelated subject, but asked him about the Ross diss anyway. Here’s what he said.

“I don’t get caught up in hoe shit, man. I just keep doing what I’m doing and keep pushing. I don’t get caught up in that, I don’t play like that. I’m a man and I stand my ground and do my thing. Numbers don’t lie, and that’s all I give a fuck about: numbers, and putting them up”

There isn’t much to grab onto in that statement; it reads like a hood PR statement. Ross has already gotten a positive response to the diss from Lil Wayne, who’s at the center of the beef. Birdman and his signee Lil Wayne are currently embroiled in a lawsuit over the unreleased Tha Carter V album, which Birdman maintains will come out in 2017.
