Drake wasn't trying to hear it from a fan who says The Weeknd wrote most of "Take Care."

On Wednesday, Drake celebrated the 6-year anniversary of his sophomore album Take Care by posting a picture of himself on IG looking at its original tracklist back in 2011. “Take Care 6 Year Anniversary...here’s a pic of me looking at some early draft of a track list...photo by @ovo40,” Drake captioned the IG pic. Well shortly after Drizzy shared the pic, Complex decided to re-post the photo on its own IG account, and one particular follower took a jab at the 6 God in the comment section by saying that Take Care was mostly written by The Weeknd. However, Drake wasn’t with the shits and quickly clapped back at the user in the comments, clarifying that Abel only contributed to 4 out of the 20 songs.

“Abel Tesfaye CO WROTE on ‘Shot For Me’ and ‘Practice,’ obviously was featured on ‘Crew Love’ and ‘The Ride’ and that’s it,” Drake replied (see below). “There’s 20 songs on that album … don’t try me.”

Even though Drizzy clapped back & cleared the air, the follower @Meechie__ wasn’t entirely wrong with his comment. In fact, back in 2013 Abel informed fans in a cover story with Complex that Drake had taken a lot of his material for Take Care from his House Of Balloons project.

"House of Balloons was actually supposed to have more songs than it does. I had so many records left, and then Take Care came through," he explains. “'Crew Love,' 'Shot for Me,' and 'The Ride' were supposed to be on House of Balloons. I wanted to come out with like 14 records. I felt like 'The Ride' was the last one, and it wasn’t done yet. [Drake] heard it and he was like, 'This shit’s crazy.’"

Abel says that Drake heard "The Ride" and immediately knew he wanted it.. “I need to have this, man... I know I’ve already taken ‘Shot for Me’ and ‘Crew Love’ and this and that," he recalls Drake saying. "And me, I was hungry at that time. I was like, 'Dude, take anything'... he told me he wouldn’t be able to do the album without me. You can read it on the credits that he thanked me. I don’t know if that’s him being generous, but I gave him a lot of records.”
