One of the people who helped start Cardi B's career doesn't see it slowing down.

While Cardi B's rise from Instagram joker to one of the biggest rap artists in the country has been incredible to watch, the fame also comes with its fair share of downsides, especially haters. Though according to one person that was present early on in her career, Cardi shouldn't have anything to worry about.

"Let the haters hate," says Monica Scott-Young, a producer on VH1's Love & Hip-Hop, in an interview with Page Six. "I know Cardi has withstood a lot, but I’m sure that it’s not going to take her down."

After gaining her initial fame through a series of viral Instagram videos, Cardi took her first steps towards becoming a legitimate artist with her appearance on Love & Hip-Hop, where she proved herself as one of the show's most popular characters. Since then, Cardi has been facing hate on all sides. Not only has she had several high profile beefs with other female artists such as Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, and Nya Lee, but she's also facing several lawsuits as well. One from her former manager, who is suing her for $10 million, and the other from a autograph seeking fan who suffered a beatdown from Cardi and Offset's security team.

Since then, she's deleted her Instagram account, and has taken time off from touring so she can give birth to her daughter.

"She is taking some much needed time off … She is having a baby and we tend to think that we are superwoman and we can do everything and scale mountains all while bringing life in the world. So I commend her on unplugging and taking the time off," said Scott-Young. "If that’s what she thinks she needs in order to make sure she is healthy so that she does the most important job, which is creating life."
