Ella Mai and Chris Brown link up in advance of her debut album.

It feels like this is one of those collaborations that people have been waiting on for months. When Ella Mai broke onto the scene, she regularly referred to Chris Brown as one of her biggest influences and now she's finally getting to work with him. Last year, "Whatchamacallit" was previewed for fans to check out ahead of its release and after 12 months, its finally dropped as an official single. The English R&B singer is currently gearing up for her upcoming album drop, which is set to include John Legend and H.E.R. Today, we're getting a new look at one of the most exciting songs from the project.

Ella Mai was in the news last week because of the controversy surrounding Jacquees' remix of "Trip." While she appears to have not had any say in the removal of the track from SoundCloud and YouTube, she was still blamed heavily by his fans on social media. Her breakout single, "Boo'd Up," is one of the biggest songs of the year and she has a chance to recreate the magic with "Whatchamacallit."

Because of the similarity in their voices, Ella Mai and Chris Brown sound absolutely gorgeous together. When one harmonizes with the other, it's almost as if it's just a double of the original vocal, introducing an interesting dynamic to the song that we rarely hear with other artists. Let us know what you think of the new single and peep the tracklist for Ella Mai here.

Quotable Lyrics:

There's something 'bout being wrong that just feels so right
Think about it in the morning cause we be all night
Baby we can keep going cause you already know
And that you never stop the show until you see the lights
And the lights ain't on right now
I can't even see what's going on right now
Cause this Hennessey is so strong right now
I don't even care if I'm wrong right now
