David Letterman is making a return, and he's bringing some friends.

Back in August, news broke that David Letterman would be returning to the small-screen to host an all-new Netflix original series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. While it wouldn't be the traditional late night format, the basic premise would remain the same, only without the traditional brevity of his usual interviews. This time around, the episodes are set to be one hour conversations, giving ample room for Dave's interviewing prowess to really shine. Plus, the episodes will take place both in and out of the studio setting, with the pair spending time in a location chosen by the subject. Even if you're more of a Conan guy, you might still want to tune into Letterman's latest upon hearing the official guest list.

My Next Guest has been confirmed to feature appearances from Jay-Z, Barack Obama, George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Howard Stern, and Tina Fey. As you can see, it's quite the eclectic band of personalities. Seeing as you're currently perusing a hip-hop focused website, it stands to reason that Jay-Z's appearance will be a notable highlight. Hov is no stranger to the Letterman show, but this will be his longest interview since his New York Times cover story with David Baquet. If an hour of Jay-Z isn't enough to pique your interest, catching up with Barack Obama should be interesting, given what's transpired since he left office.

Unlike the average Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction will not be released all at once, much to the annoyance of habitual binge-watchers. Instead, episodes will be released monthly. Stay tuned for more Dave Letterman, hitting Netflix on January 12th, 2018.
