DJ Premier had to make a tough decision.

While both DJ Premier and Royce Da 5'9" have enjoyed extensive careers representing two integral components of hip-hop culture, recent years brought them together in a big way. Prior collaborations like "Boom" and "Hip-Hop" frequently emerged as album highlights, so when they announced their partnership under the name PRhyme in 2014, hip-hop fans rejoiced. A few months back, the duo dropped off their second album PRhyme 2, announcing a subsequent run of tour dates to follow.

Unfortunately, Preemo took to Instagram yesterday to announce the cancellation of all remaining tour dates. However, no one can fault the legendary producer's reason for doing so. In the announcement, he revealed that his father had fallen ill, and he needed to be with his family. "Throughout the duration of my career, I have taken great pride in the fact that I have perfect attendance and never missed a show or performance,” says Preemo. "However, due to my father being extremely sick, we (Royce and I) had to make a very difficult decision to postpone the remaining PRhyme 2 tour dates."

He continues, furthering himself as a man of integrity. “While my fans are of the upmost importance to me, I always put family first and as much as they need me right now; I definitely need them," he says. He confirms that Royce indeed blessed the decision, stating "My brother Royce was very understanding and supportive of my decision and we will reschedule every postponed date as soon as possible. Thank you to every single person supporting us and our brand and for understanding.”

Preemo assured fans that the dates would be made up. Hopefully he can find peace in this trying time. Pray for Preemo.
