"Old Town Road" is expected to retain top spot on Billboard's Top 100 for a 7th week running.

Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" is like an immovable object atop Billboard's Hot 100 chart. According to Billboard's very own data clerks, the Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted remix is expected to retain top spot, despite the incoming advances of an Ed Sheeran x Justin Bieber duet that has all the makings of a Summer-long pop juggernaut. But not just yet it seems, as Lil Nas X stands to profit from a 7th week in succession atop the Billboard summit.

The figures are in, and "Old Town Road's" remix is believed to have garnered 80 million in the borderless region governing the United States, and individual 40,000 downloads within the same locale. If those numbers hold up, there's no way in hell Bieber and Sheeran will usurp him on such short notice. Their freshly-released duet is supposed to manifest somewhere in the region of 30 million streams in the US, 40 million in airplay audience, and close to 60,000 downloads, all in its first week.

Last week was no different for Lil Nas X in his defense of the summit, as Shawn Mendes' "If I Can't Have You" was a real live threat to play upsetter. But in the end, Mendes' capsized after overexerting itself the first couple days/listens. Not to mention, "Old Town Road" is expected to receive yet another kick in the rear once people take heed to the music video he just unveiled moments ago. Check it out (here) now!
