Mannie Fresh says some of the leftover collabs that didn’t make "Tha Carter V" will eventually see the light of day.

Even with Tha Carter V still in rotation, it looks like there could be some more Lil Wayne music on the way. Earlier this month, Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh was interviewed by Shaheem Reid for LiveXLive, where he revealed he had several records that he & Tunechi recorded for Tha Carter V but never made the final cut. Better yet, Mannie said he plans on releasing them at some point too.

“The last time we worked on the Carter. Lot of people don't know but we got probably did 13 songs. We dumbed it down to 2, and we did that in like three days. So the chemistry is still there, still crazy. And dude is like ‘let this ride’ and Ill put those songs out so the world will get to hear Mannie Fresh x Carter. It will be the ‘Fresh Files’.”

Unfortunately, Mannie didn’t say any type of time frame for this possible release, but let’s hope that once Tha Carter V buzz dies down that’s Fresh Files will surface.

This news comes just hours after Lil Wayne accepted the “I am Hip Hop” award at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards for his contribution to the game throughout his career.
