The singer does not meet the criteria.

Iyanla Vanzant has fans clamoring for her to welcome R. Kelly as a guest on Iyanla Vanzant: Fix My Life to help him and his alleged victims. As it turns out, the R&B icon asked for her assistance as well but was rejected. According to the television host, the crooner simply doesn't have the prerequisites needed to appear on the show.

"He didn't meet one of the criteria that we had for guests," she explained to Candice Williams on ABC News. "Are they willing? Are they ready? Do they have the capacity to do the work? He didn't have it, the emotional capacity, he just didn't have it." Iyanla continued, "And I knew, based on what I was looking at—the paces that I would have to take him through—it would have been brutal. He didn't have the capacity."

She asks fans to stop calling on her to help the Surviving R. Kelly victims too. "Stop texting me telling me to work with the survivors. What's the fix?" she explained. "There's no fix other than them doing their healing where they get to the place where they can recapture their worth, their innocence, their dignity to the point where they can forgive. They ain't there yet."

Vanzant also appeared on Sway's Universe and discussed R. Kelly's situation further. Watch the interview below.
