Is The Weeknd dropping something new this Friday?

The Weeknd is a man of mystery. Since the beginning of his career, he's maintained a mysterious persona and continues to carry that. It's hard to predict what his next move will be at all times but, when the time is right, he makes sure the world is put on notice. That being said, he's been working relentlessly on a new album and was even spotted shooting a video for presumably the first single off of the project. Now, it looks like he's gearing up to drop something... we're just not sure exactly what it is.

The Weeknd posted a screenshot of a text conversation with his creative director, La Mar Taylor, that read, "Should we drop Friday? I'm indifferent to be honest."

Now, the question itself doesn't really indicate anything specific but considering how calculated his team is, The Weeknd definitely has something up his sleeve. The possibility of the first single from his forthcoming project seems to be the most obvious option. But, there's also the chance they're talking about something different including the forthcoming "Starboy" comic book with Marvel.

He recently shared a post on IG that indicated that he was currently in the mastering phases for the follow-up to Starboy. Maybe we'll get some sort of answer soon but considering how The Weeknd moves, we'll likely end up finding out on Friday.
