For his debut EP, Valee had access to one of music's most brilliant minds.

In case you missed it, GOOD Music signee Valee recently dropped off his debut EP Good Job, You Found Me. With a crucial feature from Pusha T and an executive producer credit from Kanye West, you already knew the Chicago rapper was in capable hands. Yet his visionary prowess was largely unassisted on this go-around. The rapper hit up The Fader for an in depth explanation on the process. Naturally, Mr. West's involvement was a topic of discussion. For those interested in that behind-the-scenes knowledge, catch the following.

“He listened to each track quite a few times,” Valee explained. “We were wondering if he was going to change stuff around or not but I guess I did a good enough job picking the producers. We sent him something that was missing a cowbell or something like that and he wanted to add that in. Some of the songs were out and, while we thought they sounded crispy and clear, he had his people go over it and have everything sounding A1. Now, we can play it in Benz and BMW speakers and nothing's poppin'.”

Valee also revealed some advice he got from the legendary producer. “He told me to be open, go for it, whatever you wanna do just do it. No such thing as fear or nothing." For more insight from Valee, be sure to check out the full interview right here. In the mean time, we wait for any news on Kanye's untitled project to suface with bated breath.
